William is a Senior Lecturer in Maths, interested in understanding the large-scale dynamics of the atmosphere and climate of Earth (and sometimes other planets too). He uses a combination of theory, numerical models, AI models, and observational data. Current research topics include: subseasonal-to-seasonal predictability; simulation and attribution of extreme events; AI modelling of atmospheric circulation; planetary atmospheres.
